A Guide for Practicing Clinicians

Autoimmune hepatitis is a relatively rare chronic inflammatory disease of the liver, which is seen in adults and children, women and men, and across the world. It remains somewhat of a curiosity given the lack of specific diagnostic tests. Nevertheless, a pattern of clinical and laboratory presentation, coupled with an absence of alternative etiologies, remains a reliable way for clinicians to identify patients with this disease.
