Morphological Dynamics and Potential
Role of Innate Immunity
The ovary is an organ with high tissue plasticity because of the growth, rupture, and atresia of follicles and the cyclic formation and decay of the corpus luteum (CL). The impressive dynamics in the ovary are especially evident in species of young reproductive age, but may be beyond the knowledge of pathologists who are familiar primarily with ovarian tumors and postmenopausal ovaries.
