Professional Collaborations for Positive Outcomes
Fifteen years ago, my daughter was diagnosed with a nonverbal learning disorder (NVLD) by her fourth grade educational team. At the time, there was scant literature for parents or providers on this complex disorder and I remember the avalanche of questions that began to erupt as our family came to grips with trying to understand this new condition, how to fi nd professionals who understood NVLD, how to provide our daughter with the appropriate treatment, and the implications NVLD had for her growth and development.
