Role of Primary Care Pediatrician in Dealing with Office
Emergency Preparedness
The primary care pediatrician is an important link in the continuum of care of the critically ill and injured child from the point of presentation through stabilization, transport, definitive care, and finally rehabilitation. Patients may seek emergency care at the office because of the pre existing trust and rapport with their primary care provider. Stabilizing the ill child in the office and early access to the Emergency Medical Services (EMS), are vital to ensure positive results.
