The subject of traumatic injuries of the knee joint represents an important clinical problem. Millions of surgeries are performed every year in attempts to treat traumatic knee injuries. While many treatment options are currently available to orthopaedic surgeons, we need to know which ones are the more adequate to afford the long-term preservation of a fully functional knee.
