Emmanuel Apergis

I met Dr. Emmanuel ‘Manos’ Apergis for the first time at a lunch reception of the International Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (IFSSH) meeting in Australia in 2007. We had been exchanging emails regarding common work in IFSSH Committee but had never met each other; hence, he placed a white flower on the lapel of his jacket so that I would recognize him. In spite of this being the first time we met, he was frank and we get along well immediately.
