One day, when I was a young resident, I remember my chief resident telling me, quite disparagingly, as we were leaving our chairman’s of fi ce, “Did you notice all those Journals unpacked on his desk? He never has time to read them!” But as we had entered the of fi ce a few minutes earlier, he was fully concentrating on reading an Instructional Course Lecture Book.
