The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development calls for leaving no one behind. The WHO European Region is the only WHO Region in which the number of new HIV infections is increasing rapidly; therefore, a vigorous response to the epidemic has never been so crucial. An estimated one quarter of all people living with HIV in the Region are unaware of their status, while half are diagnosed at a late stage of infection.
