The first edition of this book was published in 1996, the second in 2004, the third in 2009, and this edition, the fourth, in 2016. In the 20 years that have passed since the appearance of the first edition, therapy in epilepsy has evolved perhaps not in quantum leaps but certainly incrementally. The additive effect of these incremental changes has been very considerable and this is reflected in these volumes.
