This saying by the Greek philosopher Socrates means: “What I know is that I know nothing”, which is fitting to the thymus gland because the more you deal with it the more you believe you know very little about it. Our aim was to write a book on the thymus gland that would familiarize the reader with the gland and provide, as a readily accessible guide, the background of knowledge necessary to follow the updates and controversies in the field.
