This book arose from chance meetings and discussion between the two of us, one a radiologist and anthropologist (RC), the other a bioarchaeologist and paleopathologist (DB). The former expressed his interest in developing a scientific field that combined radiology with anthropology, especially bioarchaeology and paleopathology.
