This Supplement is an outline of the proceedings of the 3rd European-Japanese Joint Conference for Cerebral Stroke Surgery which was held in conjunction with the 70th Anniversary of the Neurochirurgische Universitätsklinik Zürich founded by Prof. Krayenbühl. This meeting has been held twice until now under the name of Swiss-Japanese Joint conference with the aim to exchange recent knowledge and technical advances in the field of stroke surgery and its perioperative management.
