The interactions between the thyroid gland and the skin are of profound clinical importance in health and disease. The cutaneous manifestations of thyroid disease are protean and involve all age groups. Given the prevalence of thyroid disease worldwide, especially in women, it is imperative that primary care physicians, endocrinologists, and dermatologists appreciate the scope of these associations so that thyroid disease may be diagnosed and treated expediently.
