In the past few decades, dramatic technological advancements in CT imaging have revolutionized noninvasive imaging of all thoracic structures, including the airways. With state-of-the-art equipment that is becoming increasingly commonplace, the entire airways can be imaged in only a few seconds, and elegant 3-D reconstructions can be created in only a few minutes.
