Jacques Neirynck and I arrived in Lausanne at about the same time, respectively in 1972 and 1973, he at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and I at the Faculty of Medicine of Lausanne University. I was there to teach anatomy and carry out research on the brain.
