In 2003 a book had been published commemorating the 50th anniversary of the German Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (DGAI). Since then we have worked hard to realize an English version of this book as many colleagues from abroad had requested for. Now we are pleased to offer you the history of the first 55 years of our Society.
