Technology in an Ageing Society

It is possible to make two predictions about the United States, indeed, all advanced industrialized countries, between now and, say, the year 2035. First, the pace of technological change will continue, as manifested in telecommunications, medical science, military technique, and so on; second, populations will grow older: that is, median age will rise as the number of older adults increases and the number of children declines.
