In 2002, with its World Report on Violence and Health (Geneva 2002), the World Health Organization (WHO) presented the first comprehensive review of violence committed by man against man. Violence represents the leading cause of death in the 15- to 45-year age group: 14 % of all male and 7 % of all female deaths in this age group are of a violent nature.
