Our life is based on the circadian rhythm of the sleep/wake cycle, with sleep occupying about one-third of it. The qualitative and quantitative alterations of sleep inevitably result in drowsiness, which is one of the main factors affecting our health, psycho-physical performance, tolerance to stress and, hence our personal well-being, as well as that of the whole society.
