It is currently an exciting, but turbulent, time for those studying, assessing, treating, and researching autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It is also a challenging time for individuals with ASD and their families, as they grapple with the upshots of the recent changes in the DSM and what the diagnostic labels mean to them both personally and with respect to service procurement.
