A Case Based Approach
During the last two decades, there has been a remarkable advancement in the study and understanding of both the nature and the basis for the diagnosis of benign and malignant melanocytic lesions. New classifications of problematic lesions such as Spitz nevus, cellular blue nevus, and the so-called animaltype melanomas and even the atypical melanocytic hyperplasia have led to a clearer understanding of benign versus precursor lesions of melanomas.
