The forearm represents a critical anatomical unit of the upper extremity, permitting the hand to be placed in any position, to either grasp or support an object. The distal radius and the surrounding joints and soft tissues are essential for these most vital of motions – the orientation and stabilization of the hand, wrist, and forearm.
