In the natural world there are many complicated structures—trees and rivers, for example. One glance is enough to tell us that the branching structure of trees is very complex as a whole. On the other hand, when we limit the focus of our attention to the basic units of trees, we are satisfied with our impression that the units of a Y-shaped form constituting the branching structures appear plain and simple.
