12th InternationalWorkshop

This volume of Springer’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science series comprises the scientific proceedings of the 12th International Workshop on Breast Imaging (IWDM 2014), which was held June 29-July 2, 2014, in Gifu City, Japan. This workshop was formerly called the International Workshop on Digital Mammography, IWDM for short. Although the term “Digital Mammography” was changed to “Breast Imaging” starting from the last meeting (IWDM 2012), we still kept the familiar abbreviation “IWDM.” This new naming is to make clear the recognition of the movement in breast imaging from mammography toward more recent emerging technologies and multimodality imaging solutions.
