A Case-based Approach
There are a number of good endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) textbooks already on the market. Why did we decide to write another one. Diagnostic Endosonography – A Case Based Approach was motivated by our experience teaching gastroenterology fellows and talking to experienced colleagues. Many fellows who have access to excellent introductory textbooks still feel only partially prepared to handle the more complex and unusual cases that they will sooner or later encounter in independent practice. We believe that using case studies, an approach not previously employed for EUS texts, engages the reader and leads to better assimilation, greater learning gains, and better retention.
