The main cause of severe traumatic brain injury worldwide is traffic accidents which characterized by predominant acceleration-deceleration forces in various combinations with coup-contrecoup impact, thus making diffuse axonal injury (DAI) prevail in brain trauma alongside with focal and multifocal contusions and intracranial hemorrhages.
