Our previous anatomical research topics on the levator ani muscles , the striated anal sphincter and the hypogastric plexuses have gradually led us to explore all of the anatomical structures of the pelvis. More recently, the expanded use of new surgical methods to treat urinary incontinence in women has led us to focus our anatomical-surgical research more specifi cally on the female urethra. Given that this canal is topographically related to the reproductive system, our study is of course extended to the entire female reproductive system.
