In 1987, the faculty of Penn Urology first put together a basic Urology text designed for the busy student and house officer. This current edition of the Penn Clinical Manual of Urology (the seventh in total; third with the current publisher) represents our latest effort to present a useful introductory text. Rather than provide a heavily referenced compendium, we have tried to present a framework that program directors and faculty can use as an educational foundation to allow them to reflect individual practices at their own institution and allow their own philosophies to be placed in the perspective of the field of Urology in general.
