In the first and second editions of Paediatric Orthopaedics—A System of Decision-Making, the authors outlined a systematic approach to choosing treatment options based on factors relevant to each clinical situation. As we pondered on how best we could illustrate this approach, it became very clear that real-life examples of patients treated would convey the message. In this collection of sixty illustrative cases, we have attempted to emphasise how a particular treatment was chosen for each case.
