Whiplash injuries are often looked upon as accidents causing extensive symptomatology without the presence of objective findings. They can cause a disease condition, which is frequently denied, but is unfortunate and may become chronic and invalidating for the patient. In the past three decades, much has been published on whiplash injury, yet both the confusion regarding the condition and the medicolegal discussion surrounding it has increased.
