“The brain may be forgiving, but the spinal cord is not” is an axiom that generations of neurosurgeons have inherited and passed on to accentuate the seriousness of spinal cord surgery. With their relative rarity, available literature dedicated to spinal cord tumors has been sparse and collective expertise has been missing. Many advances have taken place toward the improvement of diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes of these otherwise dreadful diseases.
