The project of a book on the state of the art of neuroimaging in schizophrenia and other primary psychotic disorders matured within the activities of the Section on Neuroimaging in Psychiatry of the World Psychiatric Association. Deciding the focus was not an easy task, in the light of the lively debate on the limitations of current diagnostic categories in psychiatry.
