Invasive fungal infections are rare but life-threatening disease for severely ill patients. Due to perpetually improving healthcare, there are life-saving and life-improving therapies for many hemato-oncological diseases, organ transplantation, advanced supportive intensive care, and new techniques making most complicated surgical interventions possible. However, all these patients are at risk for developing invasive fungal infections.
