on PET
Positron emission tomography (PET), by using different radiopharmaceuticals evaluating different metabolic pathways or receptor expression, is a functional imaging method widely available worldwide. In particular, hybrid tomographs as positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) and positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI) combining morphological and functional information are currently used in the clinical practice.
