National healthy cities networks in the WHO European Region

In the past 25 years, national networks of healthy cities have become well-established organizations, forming the backbone of the healthy cities movement in Europe. National networks provide countries with a rich resource of implementation-based public health knowledge and expertise. They create an effective platform to give visibility to local health issues and to facilitate cooperation across levels of government.
