Great attention is being attached to the importance of health for economic progress in southeastern Europe. Governments across the region are increasingly concerned with ensuring the physical well-being and better health of their populations. This focus on health reflects the political commitment embodied in the cooperation process launched in 2001 in Dubrovnik at the First South-East European Health Ministerial Forum.
