Approaches and techniques

During my plastic surgery training there appeared to be a plethora of summary and broad stroke single-volume plastic surgery textbooks, all of which lacked adequate detail. Conversely I would encounter multivolume behemoths, detailed reference texts that always seemed leaden and difficult to digest. In my experience neither of these options fully addressed the needs of a trainee surgeon, or for that matter a more senior surgeon.
