Ballenger’s Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery is in its 94th year in this sixteenth edition. It has been in continuous use since 1908, when my great-uncle, William Lincoln Ballenger, brought out the first edition. My father, Howard Charles Ballenger, succeeded my great-uncle as editor, and in 1957, I succeeded my father.
