This book is an outcome of the International Workshop on Complex Dynamics of Physiological Systems held in the Department of Physics, Presidency College, Kolkata, India in February, 2007 and participated by about 100 researchers from different field, physics, mathematics, biology, and medicine. The workshop has a special significance due to its unique location at the oldest Indian college, which was founded in the year 1817 as Hindu College later renamed as Presidency College in 1855.
