The days of textbooks are numbered but not for this one. In the modern computer age, most of our knowledge is gained online and the need for weighty textbooks is over. Much of our learning comes from clinical experience and seeing our colleagues, senior and junior,at work. During the early stages of a neurologists’ career, there is a tremendous need for a reasonably short book which enables the beginner to grasp the whole span of the subject, a book which will provide a framework on which to graft their growing bedside experience.
