Vascular ultrasonography becomes increasingly valuable the more the diagnostic query to be answered is based on the clinical findings and the more the examination is performed with regard to its therapeutic consequences. As with other specialties that make use of ultrasound findings, the diagnostic yield of vascular ultrasound relies crucially on the close integration of the examination into the routine of the clinician or physician treating the patient.
