Post-graduate medicine is evolving. The core curriculum developed for all medical specialties is a competence-based document dictating the knowledge, skills and attitudes which a trainee should obtain before a certificate of completion of training (CCT) can be awarded. Mandatory knowledge and performance-based assessments are being conducted in order to ensure these standards are met.
