Atlas of Soft Tissue Tumor Pathology-1

2013
The soft tissues are composed of connective tissue, fat, muscle, blood vessels, and nerves,
wherever they occur. Benign soft tissue tumors are relatively common, and malignant ones,
accounting for less than 1 % of all cancers and less than 1 % of all soft tissue tumors, are relatively rare. Both types, however, may cause dif fi culties for the diagnostic surgical pathologist who is trying to assess malignancy and predict behavior.
