A New Potential Strategy in Cancer Therapy

To date, cancer therapies are mainly based on the use of cytotoxic drugs and/or radiotherapy that have a relatively low therapeutic index with significant side effects, although they have a potent antitumor activity, since they target both cancer and normal cells. Furthermore, several cancer types are intrinsically not sensitive or become resistant to treatment with cytotoxic drugs or radiotherapy.
