Pediatric ophthalmology is a broad field encompassing many diverse topics including embryology, chromosomal abnormalities, neurology, crainio-facial abnormalities, systemic diseases, retina disease, and strabismus. This variety makes pediatric ophthalmology interesting and intellectually stimulating, but at the time somewhat daunting.
