Introducing a book dealing with Radiology is always a pleasure, but it is a special pleasure on this occasion as the invitation came from a very dear friend, Mario Maffessanti. The idea of producing a guide to the interpretation of the diffuse lung diseases via high-resolution CT, as the authors state in the preface, arose at the end of a day’s work brilliantly orchestrated by Mario on the snowfields of Corvara, Italy, several years ago.
