The current book presents the written contributions to a kind of “World
ummit on hearing research”, i.e., the “International Symposium on Hearing” (ISH 2006) which was held in Cloppenburg, a small northern German town close to Oldenburg and Bremen in August 2006. The International Symposium on Hearing has been held approximately every three years in Europe since 1969.
