This is book represents a special effort to bring together the most recent information on the biology of dendritic cells (DCs) focusing on the role of these cells in the pathogenesis and immunity of HIV-1 infection. The recent progress in immunology has revealed the key importance of DCs in the regulation of the immune response to infections as well as to certain malignant, allergic, and autoimmune diseases.
