Intestinal obstruction is often a daunting topic for both radiologists and surgeons. The varying manifestations of luminal blockage of the large and small bowel at initial presentation and upon recurrence, the range of clinical signs and symptoms, and the limited helpful laboratory data sometimes make diagnosis difficult, even when the occlusion is uncomplicated.
