Advanced bladder cancer has always been a devastating disease: most patients still die of their disease and in the process suffer compromise in the quality of their existence. Nevertheless, tremendous advances continue to be made in the understanding of the nature of this disease and in developing newer treatment approaches that may be more effective than was possible previously.
